The Hall High School band program has a long, well recognized history of performing a variety of musical styles, from chamber music to jazz and much more. The program has an enrollment of over 150 students participating in freshman band, concert band, jazz bands, pep band, wind ensemble and jazz combos. Band classes meet three of the eight periods of the school day, allowing students to incorporate their pursuit of their instrumental studies along with the core academic curriculum. Throughout the school year, students are afforded opportunities to perform and showcase their varied talents in both the school and community settings.
The program is led by James Antonucci, now in his eighth year teaching in the West Hartford Public Schools. He his supported in his role as Director of Bands by other WHPS teachers, local professional educators and performers.
The band program is supported in fundraising activities by the Hall High School Band Boosters. The Booster program is great way for parents to meet and work with other families taking part in the band program, while helping to provide financial support benefiting all students in the program.
